Structural engineering doesn’t stand alone on a vacuum, it both influences and is influenced by every other part of the design and construction process. Our goal is to make this process as seamless as possible.
Our Services
We balance form, function and style to realise architects and clients ambitions to design efficient and durable structures. We undertake all aspects of structural design and develop solutions using appropriate structural materials that are right for the building but also minimise the impact on the environment. We are constantly researching low carbon, natural materials and alternative solutions to minimise our impact and push the industry forward.
We undertake civil engineering and underground drainage design including SUDs design. Infrastructure design has a huge role in the serviceability and overall sustainability solutions of the building particularly in relation to management of ground, surface and foul water.
We use the benefits of 3D modelling across our projects to help visualise the structure, co-ordinate with other members of the design team and to communicate clearly how the structure fits into the overall design. We cut all of our structural drawings from our 3D models and also use the structural information stored within the model to undertake embodied carbon calculations and undertake embodied carbon optioneering.
It is becoming increasingly clear that structural design on it’s own isn’t enough – the carbon emission information stored within our designs is as important as the structural design itself. Therefore we are committed to undertake embodied carbon calculations across our projects to measure our impact to look for solutions that reduce it.
